The Directed Energy Professional Society (DEPS) fosters research and development in directed energy (DE), including high energy laser (HEL) and high power microwave (HPM) technologies, for national defense and civilian applications through professional communication and education.

Society membership is drawn from a broad spectrum of military and civilian professionals and students, engaged in or associated with the many facets of naval engineering. The Society is governed by by-laws, elected officers and a governing Council. The work of the Society is carried out by standing committees and by the Sections that have been established throughout the nation. An ASNE headquarters is maintained in Alexandria, Virginia.

The International Council on Systems Engineering (INCOSE) is a not-for-profit membership organization founded to develop and disseminate the interdisciplinary principles and practices that enable the realization of successful systems.

The Society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers was organized in 1893, to advance the art, science, and practice of naval architecture, shipbuilding and marine engineering, commercial and governmental, in all branches and of the allied arts and sciences and practice of naval architecture, shipbuilding, marine and ocean engineering. SNAME encourages the exchange and recording of information, sponsors applied research, offers career guidance, supports education, and enhances the professional status and integrity of its membership.
